Chris O'Neal, CPA, CVA
Chris O’Neal is managing partner of Moody & O’Neal CPAs LLC. Prior to starting Moody & O’Neal CPAs, Chris was a senior accountant in Charleston with Dixon Hughes, PLLC and its predecessor firm Gamble Givens & Moody. Chris has been serving clients in tax, assurance and audit, valuation services and litigation support since 2005. Before entering public accounting Chris was employed by Milliken and Company.
In November 2011 Chris was elected to a 4-year term on the Mount Pleasant Town Council where he served until December 2015. He chaired the Economic Development, Finance, and Planning Committees of Council.
Chris has a Master’s Degree in Accountancy from the College of Charleston and two undergraduate bachelor degrees from Clemson University in both Economics and Speech & Communications.
Chris has served on, and continues to serve on, numerous professional and volunteer boards. Those include, past and present, the Executive Committee of the Board for the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Governors for East Cooper Regional Medical Center, the President of the Charleston Estate Planning Council Board, the Vice President of the College of Charleston Athletic Foundation, and as Vice Chairman of the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) Board.
Chris is also a 2013 winner of Charleston’s Top 40 under 40 in recognition of outstanding leadership in the Charleston Business Community.
He is married to Tifany O’Neal who is retired from nursing to stay home with their two kids. They have a son named Simms and a daughter, Caroline.
